Five Things I had to Learn Before Launching My Planner

You all have seen me sharing my success story about having my planner; the thoughts, the excitement, and process. However today, I want to go deeper by sharing some of the things I did not know as well as things that I had to lean before launching my planners.

First: Finding someone to design it at least the way I wanted it. In all honestly, it was hard because It’s either some were booked, not offering the service or I simply did not like what they were offering. So, It took me a while to actually create the contents.

Second: The cost/production

Shout out to all entrepreneurs that work from 7p to midnight because that money is funding their dream if there’s no business loan. I knew I wanted to create something on the website and the thoughts of creating and receiving the planners happened in the course three months. Meaning , having the money to fund my project as well as patience and sanity.

I ended up paying more in production cost because my planners were custom in term of hard cover page, full color, spiral type etc… In addition, the amount of time for the planners to arrive to the state was ridiculous because they were made in China. And once arrived, I had to wait an extra two weeks since they have to be cleared by US customs.  Now, you may ask why didn’t I get them done in the United states.

Even though, it cost me a little more for the customs planners in China; It would have been extremelyyy expensive to have them done here in the states or Canada. However, I am 100% sure it wouldn’t take that long to receive them. As a result of this whole mess, I had to push my launch date from mid-May to July.

Third: Coaching

Coaching can be within your-contemplation or action phase based on how much knowledge you have on what you  plan on doing . If you know absolutely nothing on how to get started, you probably need it prior starting anything; but if you feel comfortable enough to create your goal and need someone to help you execute? Do your research and find/pay someone to help you make that extra step. Yes, you have to pay for coaching, it’s not free.!!!

Promoting: I am guilty of this sometimes. I watched many live coaching videos within my consistent tribe by Priiincesss and selling on social media boot camp group by Kay Lucas; where there were consistent reminders about sharing your work after you complete project is as much important as working on the project. You technically promote before, during and after.

Celebrate small or big wins.

It is important that you celebrate every moment of your success.  I understand that it may be hard during the stressful process, but you need to celebrate you. Like a jump, happy dance, scream or buy yourself lunch. You deserve it!!! Some day will be better than others, but overall you get to learn every step of the way. This is what keeps you going after all.

Now, if you have purchased one of my planners, I personally want to hear from you. It will mean so much to me to know how can I make changes in the future. Please take an extra minute to complete this short survey HERE

Mental Health Awareness is an Everyday Thing: 14 Tips to Boost Your Mental Health

Mental health awareness should be an  everyday subject  because it is  important as much as our physical health. It really takes courage for someone to say that “I am not Ok”; and I want to tell you that it is Ok not to be Ok.  For Mental Health Awareness Month, I have put together 14 tips to help you boost your mental health this month.

1. Focus on relaxing today. It’s okay not to be Ok.

2. Work your strengths to build self-confidence.

3. Create a sacred space for yourself.

4. Practice mindfulness today. Be present at the moment, feel the air that you are breathing, the water falling down your body in the shower, forget about the past or future. You are breathing, you are doing the best you can

5. Practice gratitude with a journal. What are the things you are grateful for? Even on a bad day, there is always something to be grateful for. Write it down each day.

7. Read something that will help your mental health or watch a movie that will make you smile. A favorite book, an informative blog post, or a live comedy show

8. Choose a daily affirmation and repeat it to yourself throughout the day. Practice positive self-talk. This is by far my best one and it works wonder for me

9. Check out some apps that might help you focus more, calm you down and focus on your mental wellbeing. (Pacifica, calm, The Safe Place)

10. What are your top three intentions for each day and how can you meet them?

11. Set up a getaway/date night for yourself or with your closed friends. It could be camping, hang out on the couch with a movie or sleep under the stars. The act of planning a getaway can boost your overall mood. (You can do it alone since we are in quarantine)

12. Are you too hard on yourself? I know you may have a lot on your plate but go to bed early and disconnect your self. Get that extra hour of sleep or two.

13. Work on coping skills you’ve neglected. You know all the things that will help you. So, soak up in one of them. (guided meditation, breathing exercises, therapy) Focus on the positive side as much as you can.

14. Take a warm bath every time you canEpsom salts are good to soothe aches and pains and help boost magnesium levels.

The Joy of Planning Ahead.

Why planning ahead helps.

“It takes as much energy to wish as it is to plan”. Eleanor Roosevelt.
Planning ahead is something important that we all can agree on. It could be a business, job, school, project; we would be very confused to complete any task if we wait the very last minutes.

Planning gives us a clear perspective on what needs to be done, what goals are to be achieved and what amount of time will be spent on completing the said goals. It is safe to say that time management has a lot to do with proper planning as it encourages the planner to set aside a reasonable time for a specific task before moving ahead to the next.

These self imposed deadlines is a great form of motivation.
By planning ahead, the amount of stress and frustration that can be avoided is huge. Let’s take a quick example from the time you were in school, waited last minute to get a project; although, you may be smart enough to pull it off, you would probably have anxiety completing it.

Even in terms of budgeting, one can rest assure that their finances are well tracked to prevent any overspending; but planning ahead will allow proper spending and saving of one’s money and achieving one’s short and long term financial goals. Yes, there will be raining days or last minute emergencies to deviate your plan but if you have planned ahead , the stress would be way less.

How and where to begin?
One can start by putting pen into paper on what goals you want to achieve this new month or upcoming year. Then, break it down and start planning how you are going to achieve the goals you have set out for yourself. I use this cute planner to help me prioritize life goals by planning weekly goals and to-do list. It also help me practice self care at the same time which keeps me sane whenever I feel overwhelmed.

Remember planning is bringing the future into the present; therefore part of having a plan is that it is able to accommodate such variables and reduce the amount of stress that you  may experience compared to when there is no plan in place.
