Foodies For An Awesome Girls’Night In.

Whether you’re a fan of turkey, beef or veggie burgers, I think every person needs to enjoy a good burger from time to time.   You may enjoy that burger place, but don’t get me wrong, it could be quite expensive if you are inviting your girls over for a good night in. I have ordered a few good ones but I think it is also best to know how to create or re-create them in your kitchen. Below are the simple steps on how I created this juicy and tasty burger and I was so excited that my girls approved. Here’s how it went down in the kitchen!!!

Ingredients for servings of 4

2 pounds of 80 to 20 ratio of lean to fat ground beef
A bag of Buns
1 large onion
6 strips of bacon ,
1 box of green leaf lettuce
2 bell peppers
1 lemon
1 pack of pepper jack cheese
1 avocado
4 sweet potatoes
Spices: Weber Gourmet Burger Seasoning, Crushed Red Pepper and oil.

The Seasoning

First of all, I always choose the 80/20 ratio of lean to fat because I feel like it is juicier. Now down to preparation. I do not do salt and pepper, I repeat NOT JUST SALT AND PEPPER. There are so many flavors in other seasonings to just settle for that; however, it is your preference if you choose to do it.

I usually add a little bit of lemon juice to the meat, then my seasonings. I also cut part of the onion and bell peppers into tiny pieces to add to the meat. You really don’t need a lot but enough seasonings to achieve a flavorful burger. I mix everything in a bowl and avoid mixing it too much to not make it too dense.

Form the Patty

I try to be gentle as much as possible when forming the burger patties. I formed the right amount and little bit larger than the size of the bun because it will shrink when cooking.

The Cooking

I am so happy for the invention of non-stick pans because they are a lifesaver if you don’t have a grill and give you that perfect crunch you are looking for. I used two pans; one for the ground beef and one to fry the bacon so everything can be done at the same time. However, I suggest you do it at your own pace. First, put them on low heat, and then add your formed patty and bacon into the separate pans. Second, cover the beef patty, watch it cook with all the juice in it, and then flip it. Moreover, don’t press on them too much in order to not lose all the juices. Once done, put that super delicious Pepper Jack cheese on top of the patty, cover it for one last time and watch it melt. Tada……It is finally ready!!!

One more tip is to toast your buns, put them in the oven or on the grill when the patties are almost done so that they can be ready to serve. I also serve it with sweet potato fries which I cut and backed (350 degrees) prior cooking the patties because it takes more time than frying and I was really trying to cut from all the oil.

Serving

I forgot to mention that I used the green leaf lettuce because it is gentler in texture compared to the iceberg. I fix the plate in that order: Lettuce, onions, bacon, burger patties, sliced avocado and homemade sauce.

These beef burgers were so good that I might try to make three different types next time; maybe a turkey, veggie and some random one. So, I am crossing my fingers they all will come out as good as these burgers and I will have enough people to come over. In general, cooking is a lot of work and I think if you have the right ingredient and adopt a proper cooking technique, you can create at least a delicious burger. Thanks for stopping by darlings.
