Skin Care September: Skin Care Tips And Routine

Skincare routine is hard. It’s like a diet; you constantly cheat on. Sometimes, we just want a quick magical result that can last forever without everyday routine or you are still in the trial and error phase where you have not found what is best for your skin. I get it; it took me a while and I am still learning. One of the first things is to know your skin type; dry, normal, oily or combination because

what is good for Miss A may not be good for miss B. Know what irritates your skin and pay attention to it closely; you may just have very sensitive skin. So, with all that being said, a skin care routine can be a struggle but it will prevent future damages. Below are some tips for your everyday routine.

Hydration

Hydration is key to our body. Upon waking up, before you eat anything it’s good to have a  glass of water. I sleep with a bottle of water or two next to me that I constantly have to remove them from the side of the bed. Not sure if it is a bad habit because I wake up to drink water in the middle of the night and I am surely not making a trip to the kitchen. Therefore, I know when I get dehydrated; dry skin and constant headaches.  Stay hydrated and it would do wonder to your skin

Product for your skin type 

You have to know your skin type in order to get the right product. Is your face constantly dry that you need a lot of moisture? Is it really oily or just a combination of both? For instance; if your skin is oily and you keep applying a dry to normal products ; it will only make it worse. You need a product that will absorb the oil not add

Exfoliate

I try to exfoliate between 1 to 3 times a week. It removes all the dead skin and all the dirt my skin has been exposed to all week long. It leaves the skin smooth and fresh.

SPF

Protect your skin. A lot of the moisturizers already have it included which is great. You need it all year long.

Foundation

If you are not going to a major event; it is recommended that you have your 5 minutes makeup look with a lighter foundation or use one of my favorite CC cream which also has SPF. Also if you don’t have plans for the day; let your face breathe.
