Did you know headaches are one of the most common reasons for missed days of work?

Your body is composed of about 60% water which helps with digestion, circulation, transportation of nutrients, maintenance of body temperature and much more. Drinking adequate water should be a routine because you lose fluid continuously, from breathing, skin evaporation, urine, and stool. Therefore,  when the intake is less more than the output; it will cause you to become dehydrated. It is no rocket science to know the benefit of drinking water.  In this post, I will name just a few examples of signs/symptoms of dehydration

1. You have headaches more than usual.

What are the key signs that a headache might be due to dehydration? The brain can temporarily contract or shrink from fluid losses when the body is dehydrated causing pain as a result. If your headache is due to dehydration, you may experience symptoms like dizziness, confusion or fatigue. On another note, I want you to know that if you are experiencing constant headaches while you are eating healthy or drink regularly; you might need to consult your physician for further evaluation.

2. Your skin doesn’t look healthy.

Drinking enough water intake will keep the skin bright and hydrated. Don’t get it twisted!!! Water alone can’t make your wrinkles go away but with proper nutrition and adequate fluid; it can reduce the sign of aging. I notice this myself; the moment I drink less than usual I start getting pimples and more discoloration throughout my face.

3. You are having a hard time going to the bathroom.

Constipation is characterized by infrequent bowel movements and difficulty passing stool. In order to have a healthy stool and avoid constipation, you need adequate water in your system. Low consumption is considered to be one of the risk factors for constipation in both young and elderly individuals.

4. Your urine is darker in color and strong in odor.

If you are not on any medications that change your urine color then you might need to pay close attention to it. Your kidneys do such a great job of filtering out waste through urination and by drinking more water; adequate fluids help them work efficiently. How often do you go to the bathroom? How strong is the odor? When you’re getting enough fluids, urine flows freely, is light in color and free of odor. On that note, when your body is not getting enough fluids you get the contrary.

This post doesn’t cover everything but I hope it is helpful. Please, let us know how important drinking water is to you.

Until next time!!!
