15 Self Care Activity Ideas To Kickstart a Healthy Lifestyle.

What is self-care to you? Self-care is not just eating a nice healthy meal and create a 6-pack at the gym. It is the action you take to meet all your physical, mental, spiritual, or emotional needs. We tend to put ourselves last, at the very bottom of our priority list because when we stop doing something in order to take care of our needs; people or even yourself think of it as laziness and feel guilty about it.  Well, I hate to break the news to you; if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be there to help others. Therefore, make an effort to put yourself first without feeling guilty. In this post, I will share 15 self-care ideas to kickstart a healthy lifestyle.

  1. Take a leisurely walk without a goal.
  2. Finish this sentence: “I love myself because I ______________.” Do this once per day, with a new ending each time.
  3. Take a mental health day—and feel not an ounce of guilt about it.
  4. Buy a bouquet of fresh flowers.
  5. Get in the habit of making your first positive thought for the day: “I am ready for today.” “Today is a new opportunity.” “I will do something I am proud of today.”
  6. Don’t wait until this pandemic is all over. Go treat yourself. Walk around the fancy grocery store without a list while taking healthy precautions of course. Buy some stuff just for fun. (Don’t spend money you don’t have though! that will stress you more).

  1. I love the idea of a positive thought for the day. I start my day by writing in a prompted gratitude journal. I love it because it really helps me focus on something good for the day.

  2. Sometimes the only way that I can get out of my head is to go on a walk, we live down a long dirt road and surrounded by woods. It’s so peaceful and sometimes that’s what I do to calm down my mind.

  3. Taking days just for ourselves in which we try to pamper and treat ourselves with something are very important to a healthy state of mind. And we all know that a healthy mind is in a healthy body.

  4. Absolutely love these ideas of self-care as steps to have a happier day and a happier life. Saved this to Pinterest so I can revisit your post when I need a reminder again. Thank you!

  6. I agree that self-care is so vital for a happy life, and mental health is so important! You have to take care of yourself.

  7. I didn’t realize when I was younger just how much it means to take care of myself. I try now to do better, but still fall short much of the time.

  8. Wow these are amazing ideas I’ve never thought of trying. Thanks

I love the first that says: “Take a leisurely walk without a goal”

  9. Just recently, i’ve started walking again and I gotta say, it feels so good to be out and enjoying the warmer weather and nature and just breathing in fresh air. It is definitely something I do to take care of “me”. I intend to keep it up too.
